Equipment Manager

EQUIX Inc. currently has an opening for an Equipment Manager located out of Fond Du Lac, WI. General Purpose of this Position:

The Equipment Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing effective maintenance and repair programs of all equipment, equipment safety, equipment availability, and utilization on company job sites. This individual will act as a technical advisor on all equipment issues and also help assist the management team with equipment budgets, asset management, utilization analysis, equipment acquisition and will make recommendations on disposal of equipment.



  •  Provide the forecasting for the preferred equipment acquisition method including purchase, rental purchase, lease, or rent that ensures a competitive and profitable position for the company through researching and analyzing
  •  Manages daily operations of equipment procurement, inventory management and maintenance function
  •  Tracks records, licenses, inspections, warrantees and service agreements for equipment and tools.
  •  Develop processes to ensure projects have the correct equipment and tools needed are delivered on time
  •  Follow up with manufacturers on lead times and product availability
  •  Assign and submit requests for scheduled service for repair calls and equipment installations
  •  Maintain and develop metrics and data to assess equipment performance and oversee the life cycle of equipment in general including processing inter-company equipment charges
  •  Promote and support safety programs and culture by enforcing policies
  •  Process and follow up on equipment financing documentation to ensure it is completed according to protocol in a timely manner
  •  Overseeing the company’s GPS system, managing the installation and tracking processes and training others on how to effectively use the system
  •  Overall asset management including equipment utilization, life cycle and market trends.
  •  Fleet vehicle management including negotiating and securing vendor contracts, securing insurance and tracking all equipment
  •  Collaborates with legal group to ensure contracts with vendors adequately support Company’s interests
  •  Participate in resolving warranties and settles major work orders by meeting with vendors, negotiating discounts, and settling warranty claims
  •  Responsible for all licensing and permits for automobiles
  •  Administer equipment maintenance program for all owned assets
  •  Support innovation by encouraging new equipment development
  •  Other duties as assigned


Required Skills and Abilities:

  •  Knowledge of construction tools and equipment
  •  Excellent ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of the organization
  •  Must be able to take ownership of the position and perform effectively with moderate supervision
  •  Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills with a mindset for continuous improvement
  •  Ability to handle tools and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
  •  Highly proficiency with MS Office, Excel specifically
  •  Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  •  Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction equipment industry
  •  National travel approximately 30% of the time
  •  Valid driver’s license with clean driving record, preferably a CDL
